Welcome to Velomotive Campus
Dutch people don’t put much thought into their cyling habits, engrained as cyling is in their daily lives. To those from elsewhere, the Dutch bicycle culture is very special. It is so special that The Netherlands has taken a leading role regarding both the design of bicycles and the design of cycling infrastructure. The bicycle is the means of transport of the future. It can play a key role in the integrated approach to social themes in the areas of mobility, sustainability, economy and health.
Inspired by successful innovation ecosystems such as Food Valley, Health Valley, IPKW and Automotive Campus, it is high time for a similar ecosystem with the focus on the means of transport of the future: the bicycle. Given the history of the bicycle industry, the Dutch bicycle ‘landscape’, cycling initiatives and the cycling oriented local and regional governments, we see Gelderland province as the natural location for Velomotive Campus – the place where entrepreneurs, education and government can come together to realise bicycle ambitions of international allure.
There is room for a very wide range of interests within the campus, such as production, innovation, education, usage, education, research and advice. This creates a unique network of entrepreneurs, educational institutions and government with world-leading knowledge, skills and innovative power on cycling. Below you can meet some of our partners and read about some of our projects. We look forward to meeting you soon!
